Michael Phelps

How do you feel about Michael Phelps not being charged with drug use, because there was not enough evidence?

i guess if theres not enough evidence they cant really say he used it for sure. So i think its ok that he didnt get charged.

I think its sort of a bad thing and a good thing because first of all, he is a hero to a lot of people and a lot of people look up to him. There is many people who think of him as like god or something. He is a great guy, but even thought he is an amazing swimmer, he should be charged with at least something, because anyone else would have been charged regardless of evidence.

I think that it was fair. If there wasnt enough evidence then he shouldn't get charged. I think if he did do it that he is sorry and has learned his lessoon.

I dont think it is very fair because i think that they had plenty of evidence with the picture and it showed him smoking it. But there isnt that much eveidence also because it was just a picture and so im kind of both ways on it. I still think he shold be charged wiht something because he was stupid and did that and he kind of ruined his reputation and lost some fans.

I agree with Daryn. It would be good for him to be punished so it could be settled. However, it is good for those who idolize him that he won't get charged or taken out of any activities.

I think it is a good thing, mainly because I really like Michael Phelps. I also think that it was fair because they shouldn't charge him if there wasn't enough evidence. He might have gotten off a little easier than somebody else, but there wasn't enough evidence, so I really think it is fair.

I think that it is fair that he was'nt convicted without proper evidence. However, he is a popular person and set a bad example to all of his fans and followers.

I think it is REALLY stupid,he was a complete idiot, and nothing happened to him, if Roger Clemens gets all sorts of crap on him for whe he was "young and stupid" when he took steriods back when he was with the blue jays. I think he should give back some of his gold medals and he is reall lucky for getting away with it.

I think that he is still an awesome athlete and an amazing person. It did kind of effect his image because he has lost probably a bunch of fans and lost some major sponsors. I think that is was a stupid thing to do and that he should have thought about it before he did it. He said sorry and that is all he can really do. This is just going to make him better because he wants to put this behind him.

I am very disappointed in him because of all that he has done with the Olympics. He has done so much, and then he ruins his rep. with this stupid drug thing. He was like the biggest role model, and i think it is disappointing. But even though he is like the biggest swimmer ever, he is an average guy and so i think that it is fare that he got his charges. I would have thought that he was smarter than that.

i think it is okay that he didnt get charged because he did say sorry and there really is nothing else that he can do and if there is not enough evidence to say that he used drugs then it must have not been that bad so i am okay.

I think people just see him as famous and so they didn't charge him, if it would have been anyone else they would have gotten charged even if they didn't have too much evidence the evidence they did have was enough to charge him.

i think there are some good things and some bads things about it. He first was charged while drinking and driving under age and he said he was sorry to his fans and that he wouldnt do it again and thats what he said this time too. Well this time he did drugs supposedly and that is kind of worse that drinking because he is saying it is okay to do drugs. Many people look up to him because he is very good at what he does and i think that he should have been charged with something at least because if it was some other random person in the world they would have been charged with drug use.

I think that it is rasonable because a lot of pro athelers get away with stuff. Ray lewis for the ravens killed a guy and got away with it and leonard little was driving drunk and hit a car wiht a family in it and killed them all so i think micheal phelps getting away with weed charges is not that big of a deal. Oh and i forgot to put oj in there he threw his wife down the stairs after he killed her.

Well hes cool and everything. But i don't think thats alright. He had a picture of him smoking from a bong. There was more evidence then in a usual case. I think he didnt get charged because he was a star, but he appoligize for it, so i guessed its all cool.

Go POT! The only thing better than pot is pot dipped in pcp. Besides, how do they know he was smokin' pot? He coulda been smoking peyote or tobacco. There is no proof he was puffin' on the ganja. Bill Clinton smoked pot. Bush was jacked on cocaine! Who cares about drug use anymore? I'll tell ya who...Old people. Old people that were strait laced in the sixties and seventies and didn't get in on the free love. If they would have gotten to drop acid here and there, they would love drugs! Some people's parents were like "no! You ain't taken' no drugs. I don't care what Jimmi Hendrix is doin! You will have no part of it!" And then they grew up and went to college while all the other kids were out having sex and takin' drugs. Those kids that went to college started makin' laws to avenge their lost years and shame the hippies in their psychadelic glory. Don't go to college... drop acid as often as you can... Who cares if Michael Phelps wants to puff the magic dragon every once in a while. It was pot...really...It's not like he was shootin heroine! That's bad... Crack is bad...meth is bad... pot makes people love eachother and make crappy music. Nothin' wrong with that! Anyways, there wasn't much evidence, if we can let OJ go, we can let Phelps off with this, i mean really, OJ killed a chick, Phelps won 14 medals. American hero. What more do you want?

I think it was a good verdict. There was not enough evidence to prove that he was actually smoking a bong. However, he is a role model to millions so it does make him look bad.

streckfuss said...

I thought it was a good thing. There was no proof to say that he was actually smoking what they say he was. The photo could have been photoshopped or anything.

Rylee said...

If there wasn't enough evidence then they can't prove it. This would be just like any other person if they did the same thing that he did. It also seems like he learned his lesson from it.

kelseyr. said...

I think it's alright. I mean, its just a picture, it doesnt actually mean that he did the drug. I feel bad for him that he that grudge held against him.

Anonymous said...

I don't know how much evidence you really need to show that someone was doing drugs. If he was, there would be drugs sitting there. If he wasn't doing them, there wouldn't be drugs. Simple as that. I don't think that it is right for him to not get charged.

rach said...

well, i think that for him to be charged with drug usage, there should be actual proof of him using it, blood test or something. michael phelps is a very good swimmer (hence the olympics!!!) which makes him a role model to many young people, which is also good b/c since he's notbeing charged with it.

The Thrill said...

I think that it is good. He is an american hero and we dont want to tarnish his name. he is a cool dude. I think that if he would have admitted to it then it owuld have been a different story. But, he was just holding a bong. Thats not illegal.

SMAX said...

it is stupid if u ask me. just because he is a celeb that means he can get aways with it. If i was smoking pot i would get charged with it.

Kayla said...

I guess i dont really care if he got charged or not. I think its kinda dumb he didnt get charged because if it was anyone else they wouldve been charged. But i guess it doesnt matter it doesnt really effect me or anyone else really.

Anonymous said...

If he was really using drugs, than I don't like it. But since they couldn't prove it, then nobody can really say anything. I guess its his life and thats the way he wants to spend it....

bean said...

im very happy that he didnt cause now i can get away with it. i love pot. its the best. i could care less if he got charged. its not like its that big of a deal. hes not the only one who does it

Bierman said...

I dont think it really matters. There wasnt enough evidence. I dont care if he does that as long as he swims fast.

matt said...

I feel that that was right because he really wasn't seen smoking pot. He was just seen holding a water bong not smoking it. He is also awesome.

..::..Fair..::.. said...

Well, to be honest there are a lot of people who smoke pot secretly. I'm not saying i do but Michael Phelps is just a regular guy who won 14 gold medals. He is famous that is why people are making a big deal out of it, but if someone from lets say new york city smokes pot no one really cares that much.

Anonymous said...

I could care less. They weren't steriods or other performance-enhancing drugs so they did affect his Olympic performance. Besides an American pothead beat those Communies.
