Health Care

The United States is the only industrialized country that does not have a national health care plan. What would it mean to the United States to develop a National Health Care Plan? Is this something that will be important to you in five years?

If our nation would develop a health care program that makes it all equal with others it would be great. Also if it doesn't cost as much as it is, then we will get taxed for something else at a higher pay. So just leave the program the same way it is. Most people have some kind of health care, so to me it is fine the way it is.

I think that in 5 years with a national health care plan would be a big deal. Everybody would have better health and would be able to live longer because of it. Some people don't have any health care plans because maybe they are poor or homeless so that could help them greatly.

Health care can be a very good thing but some people might choose to abuse it and if you only offer it to the poverty they will just keep staying where they are so i think if they choose to make a health care plan they should have it for kids that are from 0-18 where they would be able to use it. After they turn 18 they will be on their own. Also when you start to collect social security i think you should be able to get it. If it was avaible for every one people would just take advatage of it if it were like that you could just live of your welfare and the gov. would pay for your healthcare

there are two sides to this story: the good is that yes, it probably will cost less, and yes it could be positive for us.
The bad is doctors will not make as much money, and if you need a sugery that is not immediatly life threatining, you may have to wait several years to get it.

If the United States developed a National Health Care Plan, we may not have as many obese people. This will be important in 5 years because, in 5 years, we will probobly have even more obese people and our death rate might go up. With the National Health Care Plan, they could figure out ways to stop this or lower it.

If our nation were to develop a national health care polan medical things would be equal for everyone. The cost of medical care would go down, families could accually be safer with this plan. but there are down sides because then the rich people will start to complain be then they get even more taken out of their pockets. But I think change would be good.

I do not think the government should have to have a health care plan. The government should just make health care a requirment for full time employers. The people who are not covered by their employers then should be covered by the government. This would be important to me because in five years I will be off my parents' plan and will need my own.

Well, many things can happen in a five year period, what if you have a random outbreak of small pox again or something like that, a lot of families can't afford that kind of health care. That is one thing that could affect us. Although the chances of a small pox outbreak is like very very small.

I think that it would be good for the US to have a plan. There would be equal health care policies for those who couldnt afford it and it would be equal. I think that if this happened in five years it would benifit me and everyone else to.

Right now I don't think that it would be a good step for America. Maybe five years ago it would have been nice and maybe five years from now it will happen, but I don't think that America has the funding and the stability to support nationalized healthcare.
