Cell Phone Law

Aberdeen has passed a cell phone law. Do you think it is a good think or a bad thing and you can't have cell phones while you are driving?

i think both. i think it is a good that you shouldnt have cell phones while you are driving because to many people use them and thats the cause for accidents. but then its not a good law to pass because cell phones are a good use because if something bad happens and you need to get a hold of your parents or somebody you need to call them how else would you tell them that something happened if you didnt have a cell phone. but more towards its a good thing to get rid of it to many people are texting and talking on their phones and not paying attention.

Well when i really start to think about it it could pretty much be good or it could be bad .... because it could be good because then maybe just maybe we would have a lower accident rate but also if we cant have our phones what if something goes wrong and you need help or you need directions and you can call ... so it could go both ways....

I personally understand parent's and others point of view. Kids are getting in accidents due to cell phones and are hurting other's lives in the course of it. I am a teenager and not eighteen yet so it kind of stinks in the long run. There could be an emergency and you would not be able to pick up your phone or call until you stop or arrive at your destination.

I don't really have an opion. Many people are getting in accidents because of them. But then again, having a cell phone would be helpful to know where you are going and help on the road.

i think both kinds are good because you can talk to the people you need to in the car but it is a really big issue because it is distractive.

For me i think it goes both ways. It isnt safe when you text and drive so i think its good that the law passed. at the same time they cant say you cant have them at all driving, people get into emergencys and need them. what if you were driving and got a call that you couldnt answer saying one of your family members is in the hopsital? its not like your just going to stop at the side of the road to answer.

i think it is a good idea to not use them while driving. That can cause a lot of accidents, but i dont think that means that people shouldnt have them with. They are very helpful in case of emergencies or if you need to talk to someone.

I think that it is a bad thign that you cant have cell phones while driving. People use cell phones for alot of different things. Think about if you get in an accident and need to call for help. What are you going to do run for help?

I think that it is a good think that you can't have you cell phones while driving because cell phones are a big distraction. If you are paying attention to who you are talking to on the phone, then you're not paying attention to what's happening around you. I think it could lower the accident rate a little. However, there are other distractions that will distract you other than cell phones.

Im pretty much on the fence. It is good to have a cell phone just in case if you get stuck or something and then you could call someone. People do text on them and then get in accidents. People should text while driving but you need them especially in the winter.

I am against the ban. Cell phones make life more convenient and safe. They can save peoples lives. We have freedoms in America, which means we get to make decisions. So it is everyones decision. Plus its not actually the cell phone thats causing the problem, its the talking. So i guess we would have to ban eating, talking to passengers, or doing anything while driving. We cant get rid of everything that is dangerous.. life would be pretty boring.

They havent passed it yet and no i dont agree with it. But i understand where the people are coming from because they have been shown to increase accidents.

I think there is two opinions because i think that people shouldn't be talking and drving at the same time, that is what causes a lot of accidents. But i think you should be able to have them in case you have any emergencies. Or like i think you should be able to text when you are stopped at a stop light but other than that you shouldn't be able to have it.

i think it is an ok law because if you do that you would be a bit of a idiot to try to like text and what not, and i really do not have a cell phone so i really could care less

It can be both! Because kids want to be on their cell phones. And they arent paying attention, but it can help if you get in an accident. It can cause accidents though, so it can be both.

I think it is sometimes a good thing but sometimes a bad thing because it goes both ways. It can be a bad thing because if you need help with something or really do need to contact someone about something, then you cant reach them legally. It can be a good thing though because it might help with the high accidnet rates among teens and other adults.

i think the cell phone law is somewhat good and somewhat bad. i think it is a good idea to not use them while driving. using your cellphone while driving is known to cause many accidents, but i dont think that means that people shouldnt have them with. They are very helpful in case of emergencies or if you need to talk to someone and get directions.

Well to tell you the truth i think it is a bad thing. Because now people are going to get angry and do it anyways. They would probably start texting instead so they wouldn't get caught, and it is still a way of communication. I do think the outlook or the moral of the law is good though.

i think that you can argue either ways. I think that it was a good idea that they had in passing it because of the purpose. But i think making it illegal was a little extreme. Talking for randomness you can literally just stop because that makes driving harder and there is no need for it. But what if there is an emergency?! You miight need to use the phone. If you think that you need to pick up a cal froma friend, pull over. Just dont talk while driving for nonsense.

It a good idea but not practical. There are workers that need to be on their cell phone for work. I think they should not ban cell phone but instead allow police officers to pull people over if they are swerving or driving poorly. This may be conterversial but it therefore will leave necessary exceptions. Personally I try to avoid talking on my phone while drving. It's dumb if you don't need to. And anyone dumb anyone to text while driving should be beat.
