YouTube
YouTube in no longer 100% free... At one time the site would offer videos 100% free but now some clips you have to pay for. Do you think that is right or not?

NO!! This is wrong!! They are just trying to make money. Why would you change it so you have to pay to watch a little movie clip. The only thing thats going to happen is people are just gonna watch the free ones. They arent going to pay to watch them. Thats so stupid!!
No because if we have to pay for video clips that people put on youtube it would not be a fun site anymore. People use that because they know that it is a sure site that they can go to to learn something or watch music videos. If we have to pay to do that then they won't like that site as much anymore. Plus the people who posted that video won't even get any of that money that the government is taking.
No that is definetly not right. The people are trying to make money off of their own movies that is very very wrong. People aren't going to want to pay to watch peoples videos. They aren't going to make very much money in the end. I think it should be 100% free.
Well to tell you the truth, I dont think that is kewl. I think that if it used to offer 100% free videos they should do the same. I don't like it when they have something that you get used to then they just change it and say you got to pay for it. That is pretty much wrong. Youtube is not only popular for the freedom to post something for the world to see, but also the fact that it's free. If you take that away, it may lose some users. This also reminds me of the choice that apple was making a few months ago: to see if they wanted to make their songs free to download or not.
I think it's right in a way and wrong in another. I think its wrong because they used to be free and they changed it just because it got so popular. A reason i think its right is because thats business, demand is high so prices are known to go up or start. And people also earn a right to get money for something that they make.

This is right. Google bought Youtube for $1.65 billion. They have to pay for the bills somehow and I doubt advertising covers all this and the roughly $1 million dollars a day it costs to run. Also the videos that you are buying on Youtube are videos you would have bought on other websites anyway like Itunes or Vongo. This is putting more video sources into one place. This move to paying for videos is inevitable after Google shut down Google Video late last year. Hopefully they do not screw those who buy videos on Youtube like those who bought videos on Google Video. Hopefully the videos will come DRM-free and if they decide to ever quit selling videos on Youtube you will still have ownership of the videos. I say this because when they shut down Google Video all the videos you bought were just erased so be wary of buying videos on Youtube.
No, i dont think that it is right. YouTube is a site where people go to watch silly movies or music videos. If you have to pay for some of the movies, people will not use it. Also, people are able to put their own videos on YouTube, and if YouTube is making people pay to watch their videos, they should be able to get a part of that money. It really isnt fair to them, because they put the effort into making the movie and YouTube is getting all of the money from it.
